HATS OFF TO THOSE THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Lt. Governor Jim Garcia of Div. 22 has launched a “Hats Off To Those That Make a Difference” campaign. A cowboy hat is presented to a Kiwanis member who has made a difference year after year. The first members to be presented were our past and present Governors Frank Morehouse, Claudell King. To be in their present positions, they invested many years of their time, energy, skills and emotions to make a difference in our Kiwanis community. They are a role model of what a Kiwanian should be.

The hats were presented to Past Lt. Governors in Division 22. The cowboy hats are to acknowledge their contributions they have made over the years. It also serves as a reminder to take off our hats to personally deliver a “thank you for a job well done” when a fellow member steps forward to make a difference.

It is vital that we recognize the value, the investment, the contribution and passion that our members give on a daily basis. We all want to know that we are appreciated and notice for the free time we give to Kiwanis. It fact it is the most valuable time because it is our free time. There are many other things that we could use the free time; however a Kiwanian want to give back to their community and make a difference.

We should remember that Kiwanians are ordinary people who care about kids and come from all backgrounds. They joined Kiwanis to make a difference in their community by enhancing it children and learn that “one act of kindness can change the course of a life”.

To be a Kiwanian we are open to many ways to accomplish things. Kiwanis brings satisfaction and appreciation of projects we do in the community. Kiwanians are very special people and together can make things happen. It only makes sense for us to take our Hats Off and thank them for making a world of difference.
